Scope

In this example we will demonstrate how to evaluate an assignment where a student will submit a Word document based on an instruction, then receive feedback and be graded. This guide cover the feedback and grading part. A separate guide cover how a teacher will create the assignment.

DefinitionsAssignment: is a potent tool to send out tasks to students. It can be used for PBL meetings, group evaluations and many more functions. It can be used for the entire course or just a selected group of students.
Evaluator: A teacher who will evaluate and mark the assignment.
Evaluate: (meaning in swedish) bedöma

Who can see content created in this tutorialOther teachers can see and edit the settings of the Assignment. Students that has been given the assignments can see it and respond to it.

Evaluate/Give feedback on submissions

Assignments can be used for a broad range of scenarios ranging from a simple submission with feedback to more complex rubric based assessments of multiple criterias. Feedback can be given in different ways. Below we will evaluate a word attachment from a student, give feedbakc and grade the assignment.


Select the course to work in

  1. Select Course
  2. Select Course instance



Select the assignment you want to work with

  • Click on the assignment you want to evaluate

Select the student to evaluate

In courses with many students, filters can be used to find Assignments with a certain status ( Pending Review or Not Submitted). Regroup the list by clicking on the column header at the top of the list of students. You can also filter the list using the Group search on the right hand side of the list.


  • Click on the student you want to evaluate

Open attachment (word file)

  • Click on the attached document and review the work.


Give feedback to student

  • Fill in your feedback in the Feedback field


Grade the student

  • Select a grade
  • Set Review Action
    • Final Evaluation: This closes the Assignment process for this student
  • Click on Save
